Tonight began our city's "Concert in the Park Series" - A Thursday night occurrence during the summer months. To start off the series, we rounded up the representative of the Miss USA pageant from Washington, followed by the night's main attraction (some may debate the attraction!) "The Coats". The Coats are a nationally recognized A Capella Vocal Band from right here in Puyallup, Wa. In fact, I went to High School with the lead of the group, way back when. If these guys ever come around your town, and they do travel the country, please you owe it to yourself to go hear them. they're awesome. There were a bunch of the blogging community there ... although they seemed to take FAR too many pics of yours truly and not nearly enough of the people that were performing. Some may think, by looking at their pics, that I was the one performing! =) Be sure to check out the images from Jody, Kevin, Tami, and Heidi for more great images of the evening. Especially if you want a good laugh at MY expense! ;) Mat

Tonight started off our city's "Summer Concerts in the Park". Every summer, on every Thursday night, this is what happens. We all come out, bring our dinner, and listen to different bands and groups. We had a bunch of family there, so it's like a "mini" reunion every week. We have such a fun family!!

So I'll apologize first for so many photos - but for those of you who may remember, last night I attended my friend Emily's boyfriend concert in Toronto. I met her and our friend Fran in the city and we headed out to a patio for a beer before heading down the street to the pub to see him and his bandmates perform. They were great - and I found shooting in the low lighting very challenging, but enjoyable. I was fiddling with my settings the whole night to try and get things right - of course you are going to have some noise in the photos cause my ISO was set to 1600... my shutter speed was sped right up (couldn't tell you what the setting was cause the lighting was so low, it was hit or miss as I was adjusting it) and I couldn't get my aperture very low because of my lenses. Oh well - it was my first attempt and the pictures definitely could've come out worse. On top of that, I had a FANTASTIC night with my friends and Kellen and his boys did a great job! Thanks for a great night you guys! :)

Me & Holt woke up at 9 and we made our noobcake. It's quite delicious, actually. I'm kinda craving some right now but I'm attempting to stop myself haha. We also played some Rock Band for one song before she left lol. Other than that, I attempted to start playing Musashi & .hack//outbreak while she was doing surveys for her xanga but I kept dying so yeah. Oh, and I also died fighting Riku 2 in KH1. So that's great lol. It still smells like smoke outside.
