Later today I went to the beach with Caitlin and people and that was funnnn even though mother nature kicked my ass briefly in a big wave resulting in a scraped up shoulder. I've never been accused of being fashionable. I'm built for comfort and name brands do nothing to impress me. I think name brands have always been a little overrated price-wise and utilitarian-wise. I wear my clothes until they literally wear out (or get a big stain on them).

I've been through mini skirts, maxi skirts, elephant bells, hip huggers, bikinis, platform shoes, leisure suits and polyester but the greatest fashion invention I've seen in my time has been pantyhose...especially the "control top" that move the fat from the front of your stomach to some unknown nether regions of your body.

The only idea of fashion I have is that I've heard black is supposed to make you look thinner. I hate shopping, but if I do buy any clothes I guess they do tend to be black. I guess wearing black is easier than losing weight. And maybe I don't look thinner...maybe I just look like an unfashionable dowdy witch...but at least I'm usually comfortable!

Cecil Beaton

My creativity runs in streaks and is rarely practical. Danglies similar to these hang on boughs and in windows around the country. A few were even given to travelers with strict instructions to leave it where they went... a sparkly bit of whimsy in a far off land. Even if I don't travel... yet... a part of me does and that tickles me pink.

I left my ficus out too long last fall and it almost died. When I ran out of windows to hang from I put them on there. The dangles really spruce it up!

To the first ten who ask, give me your address and I'll mail you one. I'd be delighted. Mom, yours will be in the mail this weekend!

Powered by Photoblog.com
