Czasem naprawiam coś innego, niż futrzaki ;) Tego misia, brudnego i potrzaskanego, z urwaną łapką, znalazłam na strychu. Udało mi się go posklejać, wyprać i pozszywać. Bardzo się polubiliśmy ;) Sometimes I repair something else than animals. I found this teddy bear in the attick, it was crushed, dirty and desolated and had his paw separated from the body . I managed to fix it, so I've got a new little friend now ;)

Meet Billy Bob. He's the black bear who roams our street. The neighbors tell me he's been kicked out by Mama Bear to fend for himself, since she now has two other cubs to raise. I’ve been busy getting ready for my two summer schools today and got as far as 10.45 this evening without having taken a single photograph. I was finishing off a few emails on the computer in my study when I noticed this little fellow sitting on my desk. His slightly weary expression matched the way I felt about all the time I’ve spent working on a computer today and I thought I should make him the star of today’s photo! I took this on my music room windowsill using a small torch to backlight him. He’s only about 2 centimetres tall – whoever knew they could make computers that small these days!

Day 184: A Friendly Visitor by USC2000

We have a few of these carved bears, created by the same local artist. One is at my parents' house, and two of them are up here at the cabin. This little guy usually hangs up vertically by the front door, but some sanding/painting was being done, so he found a comfortable spot on the doormats. Every time I walked by the front door today I saw him, and he'd startle me, just because I'm not used to anything being there, especially a small animal!

Im back in Svalbard! These pictures are from my last day here before I left for the conference and vacation in the Czech Republic at the and of April. It was beautiful a trip, northward to Pyramiden - the old Russian town. It was a bit crazy to do this trip the same dane as was my departure. We left town at 13.00 and were back at 22.00 and at 2:00 a had to be at the airport to catch ma plane to mainland! We didn't see any polar bears, just their tracks but we have seen a lot of seals laying on the ice, sunbathing.

I've already gushed about Etsy in the past...so I'll refrain from doing it again this time around. I found these cute buttons on CathieU's Etsy page a few months ago. They're a set of line-drawn animals that I thought were adorable...but I didn't see a lamb among the menagerie. Luckily, Cathie was already in the midst of creating a sheep button when I messaged her about it...and when she finally put it up for sale, I decided to buy one of each beast. When they arrived, each button was self-contained in their own vending machine bubble...and here there remain. Some day I'll get a cork board so that I can display them in a proper manner. =P
