Old Polish bass guitar was perfect victim! In order to incorporate something alive into the composition I've pushed my head very uncomfortably to the neck of the guitar and added right hand for dramatisation :D
Since the piece of film is very narrow there was a few miss-shots , but after 3rd try the result is acceptable :))

Powered by Photoblog.com

Father's Day when my daughters gave me a present of a kitty cat by magnets

All that was missing was a whoosh, a flash and some swirling camera movement to indicate that I had left the present and been transported in to the previous. Found photographs have a way of undertaking just that.

There I was in my 2012 kitchen, reaching behind my refrigerator using a broom deal with attempting to kill a cricket that had been driving me crazy. OK, if my little ones are reading this, I was wanting to catch the cricket and release it into the backyard to go forth and reside a prosperous life. There.

Anyway, behind the fridge have been a couple of yellowing, discolored pieces of paper. Using a couple of deft swipes together with the broomstick, I was capable to bring them within Neodymium Magnets attain. I flipped them over and whoosh!

Suddenly I was in a classroom. Had to become 1999. I could actually hear my previous self say, "Let Daddy take one more image," along with the moment captured on film played out prior to my eyes. My daughter, Sarah, was no longer 19 years old, tall and beautiful. She was six, adorable and sitting inside a plush dinosaur chair subsequent to her perfect pal, Delaney, in Mrs. Blaine's classroom. The photograph was partially water damaged, plus the corners had been curled up, however the time-traveling memory it brought back felt as fresh as if I had just clicked the button around the camera. I acquire the older one particular gets, the more 1 says, "Feels like it was yesterday."

There have been way more yesterdays behind the fridge. Clearly, at some point in the past, I had stacked rubber magnets some photographs on major with the refrigerator. It's truly a character flaw, but when my wife says, "Find a place for these," I quite often find yourself setting whatever it's on top in the refrigerator. Who wants photo albums, perfect?

The following dusty and water-damaged photo was of my youngest daughter sitting on a table inside a hotel in Orlando for the duration of a Disney World trip. This 1 had the date on it: 12/28/2002. Man, feels like yesterday.

As the permanent magnet cricket started chirping once more, I sat on the floor from the kitchen and flipped through the long-forgotten, now-found photos. Found pictures will probably be a point future generations will miss out on. All photos nowadays get downloaded into the pc instead of getting placed on prime on the refrigerator.

There have been seven pictures behind the fridge. With every single one particular came a whoosh of mental time travel. Easter 1995. Thanksgiving in our first apartment. Father's Day when my daughters gave me a present of a kitty cat. A group of girls on a trampoline in my parents' backyard. They're all grown ladies now, but behind my refrigerator they had been frozen at 7 years old. I hope they are as pleased now as they had alnico magnets been then. Major smiles.

I blew off attempting to kill the cricket. (I mean, capturing it to set it totally free within the yard.) I used some refrigerator magnets and identified locations for the long-lost photos on the front of our extremely cluttered refrigerator. We use the front with the fridge as a communication station. Now, along with the cricket chirping, whenever I visit the fridge, I will also hear the miraculous sound of whoosh

Powered by Photoblog.com

I used two pieces of the 20y-old Foto64 and one of them lost the light-sensitive layer completely and the second one I was so lucky to fit my ace right where the film was contained.
From one of the last local photo stores I've got the Agfa APX 100, just a regular modern film and both of the shots came-out as expected.
The incidental smudges and shapes on the old film are maybe interesting, but you never know if the image will even show the object or the smudges only.
The photos were taken by natural light from partially covered window at Sunday evening. Since the old film became less sensitive for the first photos Iv'e had to stay still for 16s! The Agfa material is a regular ISO100 so the time of opening shutter was about 3-4s. everything that by aperture about f5,6 or something (it s hard to see the scale since the lens is a bit modified and placed inside the camera ;) ).

Powered by Photoblog.com
