We packed the day on July 4th with adventure. Being that when you go to vineyards you tend to wind through backroads, and meander along the countryside, we thought that after we explored Peekskill we would set off on a trek for the closest winery. The one we found was Palaia Vineyards. It was a cute little place, grapevines growning out back, quant decore littered the yard and fun signs posted, made this place worth the winding, getting lost and wondering "was that our turn?". The wine was delicious, prompting the purchase of two. The mead being my favorite, and the Joyful Pink being Andrea's. Fun for everyone. Too bad we missed the live music!

Part II of the Journey to Peekskill, NY. The town was rich with Memorials and Sculptures. As we walked from the wine store towards the water, there was a stern reminder not to drink and drive. A car completely smashed on one side (the driver clearly did not survive) was displayed on the way. It was powerful, and eye opening. The 9/11 memorial was moving. It was positioned near the Hudson, it quieted my mind. I even forgot about the heat. It truly made me forget the day-to-day problems, we all have them, but in that moment they seemed small. Right on the edge of the water was an interactive kaleidoscope sculpture. You would walk in and turn the knobs delighting yourself each time with colors and patterns that amazed me. In Peekskill!
