I was probably out for about 8-9 hours and slept like a baby! I attribute this to my proper set-up of my sleeping pad and also to those 2 blankets I bought at Walmart the night before! What a save. I doubled up on pants and socks and blankets and quadrupled on shirts. Sleeping in the cold is no joke and all I've learned is that I really need to get a new sleeping bag.

Our hike today was a little more rigorous than Panther Creek. While Panther creek was about 7.6 miles in total, the AT trail was more like 5.6, but was all hills. Santi and Andrew took a sprint start, and Christine and I meandered in the back. Mari came to get us and told us the boys had a 25 minute lead on us, oops. We hiked for about an hour and a half until we reached Deep Gap Shelter. We took a long lunch break there, though not quite as long as the day before. The day was much windier and a little more chilly so I was really glad that I brought my jacket. I had been contemplating just leaving it, but alas, we even passed a small patch of snow heading to Deep Gap so I am really glad that I brought it. We 5 decided that we just finish the trail and then head to Helen, GA just for a few hours to hang out. By the time we got to Helen, I'm pretty sure that Andrew had convinced me that Bratwurst was the most delicious sausage in the world and I was a little disappointed that we couldn't find cheap bratwurst. No worries though, Santi reminded us of the glory of funnel cake, so that was really delicious as a midday-post-hike snack. We all decided to head back to the AT trail after scouting out other possible campsites. So we stayed in the same place as the night before. We had a blast just kickin it by the fire trying to finish all our food and stuffing our faces with noodles, soup, thin mints, and marshmallows. We still all slept pretty early. My feet were killing me due to some pretty crazy blisters. Still, what a great night. Mainly, I was just thankful that the night was over and that I had survived in my dinky little sleeping bag. The first thing I did was complain with Andrew about the cold. Turns out that we both suffered the most because of our terrible sleeping bags. It was a rant well spent.

We headed out to our first trail, it was called Panther Creek, which was about a 3.3 mile hike to these beautiful falls. The hike itself was not too rigorous, I accompanied Christine in the back and we trailed our way to the falls. There is nothing quite as freeing when you're hiking as the realization that there is such a lack of noise. I feel like that sentence was poorly constructed. But honestly, how amazing is it that there are no car horns or city sounds when you hike? It's so liberating! Well, we made it to these falls and this giant lake. Santiago decided to strip down and take a dive into this freezing cold water. Some other campers nearby asked us, "Does he normally do this?" at which we replied with a hearty nod, yes. We all made and ate our PB&J sandwiches there at the shores of this lake and stayed for about an hour or 1.5 hours. It was lovely, albeit a bit warm. I had started the trail with 4 layers on and had taken all but 1 off by the time we were about to leave the lake.

We made it back to the beginning of the trails and decided that the next best route would be to hike bits of the Appalachian. First though, we decided to go visit Goats on the Roof. For anybody who lives in Georgia who wants to visit a random weird roadie tourist trap, Goats on the Roof is literally what it sounds like. Goats on the roof of this restaurant/gift shop. You can feed them and such. So we stopped by because it was nearby. We didn't feed goats, we just used their bathrooms and filled up our nalgenes for the night. On the topic of filling up on necessities, Andrew and I were adamant on getting more blankets so we took a pitstop to Walmart in Clarkesville to grab some $2 felt blankets. Such a sweet sweet gift from God. Warmth. We set up our camp right across the road from an AT trail. And then we proceeded to make our fire. We were pretty winded and tired and consequently fell asleep before 11 pm. According to Christine, Santi and Andrew, I snored like a wildebeest. Expected.

Powered by Photoblog.com

I am still getting used to the new camera and wanted a place to test it out, so I headed to a local favorite, the Noland Trail. Since the wildlife wasn't as plentiful as usual and the trails is about as brown and dull as it gets, I documented the stuff that I usually ignore. I get the feeling I'll come back from Athens and Rome with at least a few pictures of marble/granite/limestone/etc. especially if it has been shaped into statues or buildings.
Perth Glory claim Owen interest by straphat

Michael Owen's future could lie in Australia after Perth GlorySnapbacks Wholesale claimed they have been approached by the former England striker's agent about a move.

The 33-year-old joined Stoke on a one-year contract in September after he was released by Manchester United in the summer.

Owen has, however, yet to make a league start for the Potters as injury and the form of his team-mates has restricted his involvement.

A Perth Glory spokesman has claimed that Owen has been touted to the A-League club - who earlier this season also claimed they wanted to sign David Beckham - but any potential move was still some way off.

&quot;Michael Owen's agent has enquired about Michael playing in the A-League,&quot; the spokesman told the West Australian newspaper.

&quot;Perth Glory are interested but are yet to find outNew Era NBA Fitted Hats Michael's terms and conditions.

  &quot;Until these are known, Perth Glory  will not enter any further negotiations.&quot;

Owen's former England team-mate Emile Heskey moved the the A-League at the start of the season after agreeing a one-year contract with the Newcastle Jets.

Heskey, who has scored seven goal in 14 games, was joined Down Under by legendary former Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero after he agreed a two-year deal with Sydney FC.

Football Federation Australia also claimed in November that they had been approached by agents working on behalf of Beckham about the prospect of a short-term move.

Those claims were quickly rubbished by Beckham despite the former England captain later calling time on his five-year stay at Los Angeles Galaxy to seek a new club.

Perth Glory, who lost last year's A-League grand final, are looking to fill an international player position in their squad - which does not come under the A-League's salary cap - Snapbacks Wholesale with former St Mirren striker Billy Mehmet to join Thai club Bangkok Glass.

Though the world didn't end, 2012 will be gone after Monday. Today was a balmy 45 degrees and I decided to take advantage of the sunshine by walking the Noland Trail.

In the years that I've lived here, walking this trail has been one of my favorite scenic getaways from the hassles of life. I was unpleasantly surprised to see litter in the lake today. The Noland Trail is home to many strange animals, some of them joggers. Though this mess was isolated by a plastic dam and the rest of the lake looked great as usual, I couldn't help but wonder how much more trash would end up there.

After crossing that bridge and proceeding down the trail, I noticed the last few red leaves holding on to a branch and a bush almost completely devoured by bugs. I started to think about what I held on to, what I should let go, and what was good to hold close.

Recently in my readings, Hebrews 12:1-3 has come up more than a few times. The idea of "letting go of all that hinders and sin that so easily entangles" sounds awesome, but difficult also. Even more awesome is "running with perseverance the race marked out for us."

Though I won't go into detail here about my own life, I'm sure many of us would like to let go of something that prevents us from running this race with perseverance.

There are some things worth holding close, friends and family come to mind. While I was home for Christmas this year, I was lucky to see a multitude of friends and most of my family. If you don't already know this, I'm a hugger. By this, I mean that if we're even moderately close and it has been a while since we've seen each other, you can expect a good squeeze. I like to think of a hug as a physical symbol that lets people know that you wish they were closer to your heart.

This holiday season, if you're still able, hold on to your loved ones and spend some time thinking about the parts of your life that hinder your ability to run with perseverance.

Powered by Photoblog.com

The understanding of credit scores is pretty critical in order to understand the full extent of the benefits of a payday straightforward loans. Credit scores are considerable hindrances of having a simple and easy loans and good interest prices.

For this reason, also, the personal lenders dealing with payday straightforward loans impose higher interest prices. A regular money advance very easy loans or payday painless loans usually has about 25 to 30 percent interest, and has to be repaid in a matter of time. That being stated, the annual percentage rate of the effortless loans, or APR, can get insanely high. If, for example, the borrower fails to repay the debt in the allotted time, specific fees are added to the balance. Worse is that if the straightforward loans is rolled more than, the percentage interests doubles and triples. Straightforward loans that is rolled over three or 4 times will, in all likelihood, have an interest that is even more than the principal quantity. But despite this seemingly draconian notion of simple and easy loans, there are nevertheless numerous of consumers drawn to it.

That can be blamed to today's tough economy and endless unexpected necessities that aren't element of the budget. Very easy loans, in that sense, develop into people's only instant resolution.

Powered by Photoblog.com
