I can see what prompted you to treat this image in this way. Just toying with an idea: crop 10% off the right, 20% off the left and 5% off the bottom. Bit of a 'buzz-cut' approach, I know. If you have PS, try this sharpening technique, which might need tweaking, but works well in similar circumstances. I am curious to learn what you think.

I think the bright red looks really nice against the greyish background... :)

(You can't see on your posts, but the words "this sharpening technique" are a link to a forum post in the digital photography section of the forums.)

The light is superb! The splash of bright red and green against the gray fence is fantastic! Also, great composition and depth. Just WOW!

I really like this image. The PoP of red is really nice. I can see what revenant is saying about the cropping, it would change the capture. Depending upon how you cropped it and where the rose ended up you would have an entirely new picture.

very nice contrast and light.. looks like the rose is trying to escape the bars of fall as it tries to run towards the sun...

excellent capture...loving the shallow dof in this shot and I actually prefer a shallow dof as opposed to one with more detail.

This is such a great image Eric! The selective colorization really works well with this.

As if she leaned her head sneaking through the fence, just to be grasped by the lens !

What a lovely image. I like the contrast between the softness and colour of the rose and the mono stripes of the fence. It works really well.
