I was at home in the late afternoon today, and noticed that the sun looked quite orange for that time of day. Uh oh. That means dust in the air, or soot. Usually here in Denver, that means fire. The sunlight came into my house with a definite orange glow. (nothing radioactive here). I noticed the color of the light on my chair, above, and the orange light on the rug, below. (I know you might not really be able to see the orange here)

The orange light was really something as it filtered through this antique chair, in the opposite view from above.

It was yoga day, so I got in my car and began to drive off. The smell of fire and burning wood was quite strong. The air was filled with smoke. I took the picture below in my neighborhood. The sun was actually a brighter pink than what is shown here. The clouds of smoke were quite eerie and were strangely colored as pictured. Last time, the fires were in Arizona.....

Here is another of my mobile shots -- this time out the driver's window and pointing somewhat backwards. This is a view of the smoke coming from the fire, with the car included by happenstance for size comparison. Lucky for me, there wasn't much traffic and I could go slow as I tried to point the camera.
