Where's the Red Dye and the Wax Crayon?

2012.04.08

After visiting the "Holiday" aisles yesterday, I decided that Sam and I needed to color Easter eggs today. Geez, I haven't done this in about 10 years, when Adam and Jenna were younger. Since there was no Easter egg hunt, there was no pressure to get them done yesterday. This year, there were plenty of eggs and dye kits (but no Matzoh).

Below: the fizzy tablets are dissolved. But where is the red one? Can't do this without the red. Are the scarab beetles endangered? Not politically correct? And what's up with that wimpy pink? I am not into those pastel Easter colors. I like bold and bright......

Here is the selection of all those shrink-wrap things that melt and conform to the shape of the egg in boiling water. But, these plastic things were put on a diet this year--- they didn't fit on most of the eggs that were in our carton. And no way to get XL sizes for the wrappers, LOL.

Here are our eggs. What's up with the no waX crayon? How are you gonna write Sam's name or Suck Eggs on the egg without them? Luckily I found a box of crayons left over from Jenna and praised be the lord, I found a white crayon to save the day, and the eggs.

And the best part of the whole day -- the Easter bunny knew that Sam was here at this "kosher" household and made a special stop for him. No Easter basket, no edible grass or jelly beans, but the bottom line chocolate. He even shared it with me --- and wasn't that wonderful of him?
