She Was HOT STUFF

I just wanted to go home today and listen to that double album with the 17 disco minutes of I Feel Love --or was it Last Dance, on the last side of the album. But wait, I couldn't find it amongst my albums in the basement. Was it my ex-wife's, or my med school roommate's?
It was a different time -- before facebook, before MTV and reality shows, before Tina Turner or Whitney or itunes, CDs, Walkmans, or music videos. I was in medical school in Brooklyn and disco was BIG. Saturday Night Fever territory. We had a weekly dance and beer night in medical school, and you only hoped the DJ (yes, we had one even back then) brought his Donna Summer albums with him, so we could dance and dance and wear ourselves or our partner out learning the latest step or arm moves.
I can't decide which song is my favorite, I like them all so much. Perhaps it is the memories associated with HOT STUFF, reminding me of New York and of such a fun time so long ago that make me choose it over the others. Or was it the beat or that outfit she wore? Well whatever.....but thanks for helping to make it what it was Donna :)
