Gettin' Ready for Equatorial Downpour

Who wears a raincoat in Denver? Who owns a raincoat in Denver? My umbrella is 36 years old!!! It just doesn't rain much to justify either one. A ski jacket or snow boots, that's another story.
So, one of the items I definitely need for my trip is a raincoat. Togo is on the equator, and we will be there during the rainy season. I went over to REI this weekend, to see what sort of raingear they had on sale. You could spend as little or as much as you could afford, and coat weight, breathability,style and color are in the mix. It's gonna be hotttttttt and humid there. How about pit zips? Or the comfort of the hood? All I want is a freakin' jacket to keep me dry, as the torrents sweep me away........
