Longest Day..........(in many ways).....

Sam was over for dinner tonight, helping me stay on my alcohol-swim-fish diet. After we finished eating, I realized that it was the longest day of the year, and thought that we should go for a walk in Cherry Creek State Park, about a mile from my house. As we jumped into the car, it was apparent that the sun had just set. Forlorn that we had missed the show, we began to walk and realized that it was just starting. The pictures below are taken trying to adjust the lighting for foreground/background and close-up vs panorama, each nice in its own regard..........I am not happy that the days will start getting shorter, just as the summer is beginning, but we will leave that for another day...........Happy summer to you all!!! PS-- the sunsets are intensified by the smoke in the air from the wildfires about 75 miles away..............

I have not been at Project Angelheart for quite a while now, since I have been using Thursday afternoons to make up some of the work I will miss when in Africa. But I have been starting to cut back in preparation for leaving, and found the several hour window back again today. Someone brought in Snickers Ice Cream bars on this very, very hot day for us to enjoy. Captured here in this hurried and blurry, but great essence of a picture are -- Linda, Logan, and Chelly, all previously pictured. And, no, I didn't have any --- it is not on the alcohol-swim-salmon routine. Logan even baked chocolate chocolate chip cookies and I abstained. It's the heat here in Denver getting to me, I think.......... this was taken with my iphone, and interestingly, it is the snickers bar that is in focus, lol!!!
