It's getting down to the wire, here. Trip-wise, that is. I have begun to realize that going to Togo is not like going to California, or even Cancun. My motto of if you forget it, just buy it there, may not apply. Contact lens conditioner -- in Togo? I doubt it. So how much do I need for 30 days? Antibiotic ointment? Do I plan on getting cut? I am a doctor after all, and these things do happen......Ok, so I made my list......left to buy, right to get from my house...........
Below: the shopping cart at Target filled up with those things on the list. They were well stocked, and cheap compared to other stores I had looked at. Now I could clean my hands to take my contacts out. I am prepared for anything -- well, almost anything. |
I got outside of the Target and this is what I saw---- nothing. It was like a summer day in Jones Beach. No sky, no blue sky, no mountains (pic 2), no nothing. And it smelled like smoke. Bad.

Here is another smoky, but 4th of July sunset. No firecrackers going off here. In fact due to fire danger, most firework celebrations are cancelled. Good thing. My front lawn is now hay, and it gets watered every other day!

We were invited to Michael and Barbara's for dinner, and here is the source of the smoke in the sky --- Michael's barbecue, LOL!!!!!

Man, what a natural disaster -- but the burgers and the chicken were way good!!!
