The Hyères islands - called also Golden islands - are situated in front of the Moors mountains ; you take the boat at Cavalaire, or Hyères, or Le Lavandou. After a tempestuous past, Port-Cros island became a ground and marine totally protected natural reserve ( 1963 ). It is very mountainous ; crossing line, no cars, no telephone (only the mobile), no TV ... and no ADSL !! - four tracks of helicopter for the fire brigades ; thirty inhabitants the winter.
