Thank you Kate, this is a great post. Stefan, things have changed a lot in Wales in the last 10 years. It is true that in the past South Wales was heavily industrialised and even in the 1990's Open cast mining was raising quite some concern. But in more recent times there have been great improvements in such things as conservation, cycle routes, exploration into wind and water power, recycling, tree planting, traditional crafts, education, and green tourism. besides which organisations such as the National Botanical Gardens and Welsh Archaeology are at the forefront of showing the Welsh people exactly why it is worth protecting our heritage...it's a shame the chess leagues are in such decline :-))
