Christine, these are fantastic shots of the people of whose land you visited. This post means a lot to me - it is these people that truly brings the beauty to this world of ours. Such faces of struggle and toil to just continue with everyday life - however, I see simple people without all of the complexities of the modern world. I've always thought of who was more "advanced", us of them. These shots tell me that it is them - the adavancement in the joys of living!! Thank you for these fine photos of a peoples that seldom come to the forefront of my mind - today it has!! - Art

Thank you my friends for your kind comments. I get very frustrated with my Canon EOS 300, too slow to start, not focusing properly when in a hurry or when in manual mode not always up to beat ! I know my eyes are going down but when I see these portraits I feel they are not neat. I don't know if it is, my camera, my eyes or because I didn't set it up properly. I didn't have this problem when I worked with an agentique camera. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think these are magnificent and you are your own worst critic! That last shot is absolutely stunning - love the perspective and it is wonderfully composed.

I agree with Christine—these are remarkable photos. You have to see with your heart in order to take portraits such as these. You have caught the colours and soul in your photos. I love the angles, the compositions. I feel like I'm seated across from these women.

Wow!! These are incredible. #2 especially. Excellent slice of life. Don't understand the camera dilemma..Canon, Nikon, Sony, Minolta.. they only mean so much. It's the photographers passion that counts. And you have it in spades!!!
