This is an amazing capture!!! I soooo love this, very high key background, immediately draws the attention to the donkey. For me, he has just come of age and is leaving home for an exciting adventure; and this is the precise moment where he turns around a says farewell to home. :)

He is possibly a metaphor for all of us when we stand and look to see if we venture ahead or stay put. I like the possibilities I can conjure up in my mind. Great composition and coloring. Wonderful picture.

I believe he dose belong to somone. Anyway in the photo it looks really sad.. then read your story, it is really sad. You should write the book carmitage:) I really love the way you present and sharing to everybody

This photo has a wistful feel. I think he is looking back at where he came from. He knows he needs to turn around, but cannot wrench himself away from that last look. (You know it is a great shot when everyone becomes a philosopher!)
