Leap, thank you for commenting on this subject, friendship means a lot to me, but you are right, cyber space has it's limits ! Le rendez-vous est pris ! They are so many of you I would love to meet ! May be I should start a trip round the world, from Canada, the US, the islands, to China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Australia, without forgetting Hungaria, Scotland, England, Poland, Pakistan, Germany, France, did I miss any ?

I've thought a lot about what makes friendship true and meaningful. I have friends scattered across Canada and I've come to realize that kindred spirits transcends time and space. As for friendship developed over cyberspace, I agree with Art that it has its limitations. Nevertheless, it's remarkable how quickly I've felt a connection with a few of my cyber 'friends'. J'aime particulièrement tes photos Christine parce que tu aimes et respectes tes sujets. To go back to the original question, I believe that the root cause of many of the problems in our world is that we live as though we don't have to worry about the consequences of our actions..."it will all work out" or "we're living our destiny" or "there's always heaven or the next life". I think spirituality is good, but it should be grounded in life here and now. We define ourselves by the things we do and just as importantly by the things we don't do throughout this journey we call Life.

Thank you Geneviève for commenting ! Spirituality yes but with responsability. To be here is not a right and we have to respect our people and to protect our world for the children of the future ! Life is precious !

Most of us will never break bread with one another "in real time" —or experience all those wonderful moments Leapfrog listed, but, for me, that doesn't lessen the reality of this community. I feel blessed by my visits to so many places and how I may in a small way expand my understanding and appreciation of our humanity in all its myriad manifestations. I believe that we all are connected—and anyplace that nourishes those connections is a holy space. A holy space , I believe, isn't a figment of my imagination. It is the place where I meet the other who is also me. Im Irtze Hashem

Leapfrog—I agree that some people will facilitate meetings, while others—will either prefer to remain known only on the blog or time and money and physical restraints preclude a physical meeting. But the world is growing smaller and who knows what wonderful cups of tea will be shared. And yes dreams can fly and happen—even in the most unlikely situations. And dreams should not be tethered —

My son has put me on this blog thinking it was a good idea, I could show my pictures and meet people. I was not keen at all but I tried and it was amusing to see him every day and to be able to tease each other on a long distance !

But I found much more to it than I was expecting. Visiting your posts day after day I felt joy and happiness, pain and hope. I saw beauty but never uggliness. I grew closer to everyone of you. And yes within the days I wished I could meet you for a cup of tea, to talk to you about the pictures you took, the way you did it ! Photopoet I feel close to your point of view but I forgot dreams could fly. Thank you all for your comments, I was a bit overcome when I opened my page this morning, I didn't expect such a response !

A very interesting conversation. Beautiful photograph. I have only one thing to say - Reality is what we make it out to be, be it here on the blog or in real life. Maybe some of us will meet and maybe not, but the bright side is, had it not been for this blog we would never have known each other at all. And that brings me immense satisfaction and makes this place as real as it can be!! ;-)

Liamine asked me to translate the French poeme, so I'll try "What is friendship ? One doesn't know how, one doesn't why It finds it's own way, no need to explain Simply, friendship is the joy to say see you tomorrow It is you, it is him, it is me When we feel well together !"

I´ve been away for a few days and missed this one. The photo is beautiful! As for the question, I think reality surpasses imagination. Is what I see whenever I look at the photographs everyone posts! Life is a miracle. All those trips you´ve made, all this people you have known and photographed show me how you have been blessed with a lot of reality. And besides all of it, we have our imagination. Isn´t that great?! As for the bloggers "on line" friendship, I also got much more than I expected. My photgraphs are very personal, very "me". I take them for myself and show them the way I like them. I´m not trying to impress anyone, nor I´m getting paid, so, in some way, through this blog I´ve been authentic, I´ve reflected many things that inspire me, that I love. And I´m sharing that with you. And I believe it´s reciprocal! So it´s friendship based on something we have in common. (I hate my poor english communication skills, but that´s the idea)

Yanko thank you for you comment, I thought someone was missing !.. Sharing ! This is what's so beautiful about this blog, sharing, photos, sharing ideas and with very few words, to connect ! I don't share anything with my neighbours apart from the hedges and occasionnally an argument !
