Birth of a dragonfly

2007.06.10

I sat three hours watching the transformation.

It had just enought time to dry up and fly away before
the rain.

maharba Jen, Thank you for calling this to my attention. I was fortunate to witness one of these transformations in younger years but did not have access to a camera. Christine this is a documentation of a lifetime. Thank you for such a fantastic photo set. I wish that Mosquito Hawk would have been in my car last night while I was being eaten up.

JuliaGotz The amazing thing is that all that was packed in such a tiny suitcase! So I had to figure it out, because he seems to come out backwards. I guess it starts that he lifts his head up and out and kind of bends over backwards - picture 3, so now his eyes are pointing towards the tail of the old outside - is that right? such a brilliant set!
JuliaGotz · 2007-06-11: 18:55
carmitage I was lent a Pentax K10D - Lens 28-300. But my landscapes and
portraits didn't come out so well.

Julia, yes the head dropped out backward, unfortunately my camera
wasn't ready when I spotted the chrysalis
carmitage · 2007-06-12: 01:45
