Wearing their best clothes

Last week end of September, first week end of October
the kattles which spent four months grazing freely in the
mountains go down to the valley.

This is a very special event, a day to celebrate the animals.

Early in the morning the owners decorate the horns of the
queens, and the herds parade one after another through
the villages. They can be as many as 130 cows and you
have to watch out when they appear. They are quite nervous
and walk steadily all packed up.

Add the noise of the bells round their neck and you will have
an impression of the atmosphere.

Watch out where you put your feet !

Belle célébration. Ces vaches sont plutôt marrantes avec leurs fleurs. Il y a de très belles couleurs.

What a wonderful set! As others have commented, you have shown and described this so vividly that I feel as I'm there..... I can hear the bells, smell the flowers....and the cattle...... :))) what a charming custom!
