Another Shot rescued from the Black

Another shot from my first afternoon's mini exploration of my new Leica..

This one didn't cope so well with post processing but I lost my photoshop when my hard drive died recently so I've only got my i-photo edit to play with. Something magical to me still in finding images in massively underexposed..ooh, I was going to say negs...

DancingDolphin Oh, I know that pain of loosing your editing programs! When my computer crashed a month or so ago I lost PhotoShop and InDesign which I used daily. Luckily when I get back to CA, I can reinstall it!

HEY, I bought a fabulous editing program for my iPhone last night, Snapseed. Look in to it, only $5 and it was pretty amazing what it does.

Now back to your photo... this doesn't strike me so much as underexposed as high contrast since there is so much light in the window and on the blanket... still very moody.... and a little creepy... kind of film noir murder mystery!

wfrnk Call me silly, but I like flowers... :-)

catherineh Well rescued. And I agree with DancingDolphin - VERY film noir!

stormfish indeed, darkness is great topic in portraits, but this is slightly too dark - it doesn't stir any emotions or fantasies in me. but maybe i'm just tired and my eyes won't really focus anymore.

EvaLizette Ohhh noooo! :(( iPhoto is a mess and in my opinion useless. I Love photoshop and .....would be lost with out it.

You did an amazing job with this. I love the darkness and use my "inner" eye to see the details
Love it :)

Lsample Filling in blanks with imagination! Could really stand a good nap myself. Hoping that this series continues~!

SADHYA I too like the window very much, but I am struggling to "understand" what is on the bed. It looks like a body to me but only just!

yellodog I rather like it myself. "Leave a little to the imagination" and all that...
yellodog · 2012-08-03: 13:27
yellodog By the way, if you poke around in the camera there are editing tools built in you might be able to use in lieu of a good editor.

caroleagle @Sadya
I can't read it very well myself :) A face and an arm is about it I think. I like it though because when I shot it, just testing all the positions on the dial, It came out all black except for the window so it was exciting for me to see how much more I can get out of a black shot with this camera than I can with my phone. I also like it because it's one of the first few I shot and I mostly use my phone for my arty shot's. My previous 'Proper' camera I found difficult to be so creative with. I'd love to be able to use my Leica like I use my phone, think it's going to take a while but these are promising to me.
