This keeling-over floral display was propped up by the Japan Airlines check in. At one point a very dignified looking Japanese man who appeared to work for the airline picked up the display and put it at the entrance of the check in line. The display continued to droop, in such a pitiful fashion that the man started giggling. Eventually he put it to the side, where it hung its head, looking ashamed of itself. Maybe it was because it was very early, but we found this hilarious.

Here's a chapter from the Book of Lessons Learned: It's a bad idea to eat onion rings before 7 a.m. from a Burger King kiosk that is the only outlet in the city, especially when that city is Beijing.

I'm not sure what they were doing, but it involved many people sitting in a very small (but not restricted) space. Who knows?

The new Beijing Airport Terminal 3 is open. And huge.

At the check in desk you can pick up a map of the airport that tells you that using the moving walkway ("Automated People Mover") you can get all the way to your gate in a hasty 32-47 minutes. Not a bad idea to get there early, then.
