temple and iris garden

2008.06.10
Unbelievable train delays on the Asakusa line left everyone flummoxed.

Two old men cross check each others' notebooks and dictionaries at a tea house.

Tea house view.

The garden.

The last man-powered ferry in Tokyo.

Candy making shop.

The temple's name escapes me right now, but it's from the Taisho period and has a lot of elaborate carving, with more Chinese influence than one usually sees in Japanese temples.

A father (left) calls carts to save his oblivious family from their burning home.

Girly girly flowers.

Hydrangeas don't always come in poofballs.

Thistle.

Iris and expressway viewing.

Hollyhocks.

The sun sets in Asakusabashi.

Getting a dose of culture.

And I'm fully aware of how girly it is to post so many flower photos. I'm doing it anyway.
