Actually called Shrove Tuesday, today is Pancake Tuesday!! It's the day before Ash Wednesday and the night before Lent (40 days). Pancakes were traditionally made on Shrove Tueday because, being the day before the fasting of Lent, all the yummy things (eggs, fat, flour sugar) needed to be used up! Although not as strict anymore, I don't need an excuse to make (and eat) pancakes!! mmmm
