One of the few things Rachel expressed interest in doing while here in Boise was to 'see the mountains.' Take this not to mean that she simply wanted to view the mountains, but rather drive up into them, atop them, perhaps become 'one' with the mountains. I speak fluent Rachlnese so when she says things like this- I understand perfectly.
We did, in fact, decide to drive up into the mountains. We took 55 north up beyond Horseshoe Bend. We found this tiny little town called Gardena which is only accessible by traveling across a one lane iron bridge over the Payette river. Quite rustic. In this little town of Gardena, which consisted only of about 10 houses, there was a 1.5 lane mountain road which seemed to wind up a pretty large hill. Looked like fun- I was confident the vibrator could handle it.
The view was spectacular- and we encountered a snake which I have dubbed 'Severus Snake.' Quite the trip if I might add- at the end we found a Mexican Bakery about 20 or so miles from where I work. And yes- they have fresh churros every day. Sweet.
