Winter Garden

Totally too much time on my hands, friday I pulled out all the tomato plants that had frozen and piled up the cages
Nope, I'm not afraid to do dirt, suit up dig in
Jan 4, 2009, it's 42F outside, sometimes when you have just a little too much time off, a planet may be out of orbit, the moons in a weird phase. Well, there's only one thing to do!!!. Start planting the garden. Lettuce and Garlic are two winter hardy crops around here, oh yes, and pansy's, the name is not what it implies, these things are tough. Yes, I was bored to the Max. cd
sendao is it the time to start already?
great set!

NellyBly You definately made good use of your time! Gardening is relaxing and satisfying for the soul..I have pansies from October through June..they are beautiful and very hardy..ice clings to them and they droop and then hold their heads up high when the sun defrosts them..Good philosophy to live by! Looks like it is a beautiful place in the summer :))

cookmandy I just love gardening, I also grow my own veg in the summer, Glad you reminded me about the garlic, I need to get mine in or it will be to late. :0) saying that the ground is rock hard. Love to see your garden in the summer as well!

Nubster That is some garden! Looks like another wonderful view from it, too. What a great way to become unbored!
Nubster · 2009-01-08: 22:24
????? Ahh - it will be spring before you know it! You can grow lettuce in winter??!! I'm really enjoying my garden here at the moment - tomatoes are ripening, corn coming along, snow peas looking good and just put in some lettuce. Was even talked into putting in some dahlias by you know who ;)
