A good meal is a good start to anything! Bresaola, rucola e parmigiano [1]. Don't worry, I still eat my greens. That thin layer of veal is covering a mountain of rocket/roquette. The tomatoes were excellent.
I thought Siena was very medieval, but then I hadn't seen San Gimignano. Maybe the best part was that there were so few camera-toting intruders (read: us) around. It was overcast but thankfully not much rain. Didn't make for good photos though.
The town [2-5]; the obligatory square [6], just outside the city walls [7-8]; the two things San Gimignano is famous for: the view of Tuscany [9-10], and the city towers [11]; ruins [12-13]; back to the square outside the city gate [14-16] to catch the bus back to Siena.
