Rain, Rain, Go Away!

2008.05.26

I didn't make these pictures blue to be artsy -- though I think they're kinda nice anyway. Someone messed with my camera and I don't know how to get the macros back to normal again. So if you DO know, (it's a Canon PowerShot SD1000,) PLEASE can you clue me in? Thanks!

I really missed the scent of honeysuckle here in Crimea. When we went to Israel for my first son's wedding, the dinner was held in a garden setting. In the center was a pole, like a tree, covered with honeysuckle. The kind owner gave me several pieces to root. Now we have plenty -- lovely to smell on a summer evening.

Not weird plants or insects -- Old wires on a small structure we're taking down, each holding a raindrop.

New grape tendrils laden with raindrops

OK - Here's a story so that you can laugh. When we bought our home, there were two separate buildings. We joined them together with a corridor between them. We paid a local guy to put up the roof. He was up there all day long hammering away, and then said he needed more nails. We bought them, he finished his work, was paid, and left. As soon as the first rain came, water came pouring into the house. When someone went up to the roof to check it, he found that there wasn't one single nail there! The man had just hammered and hammered, and stolen the nails! Since then, no matter how many repairs we've done, when it rains, it pours -- into the house!

And how many of you can "boast" a reflection like this on your indoor linoleum?! The corridor still floods, and when I don't get the buckets there on time, it looks like this! Below are bubbles in the bucket.

Pretty useless gutters... except to make waterfall effect

Grape vines

End of the storm

Yoel Topp My Hunch is that someone has either messed around with your "white balance"? or set you camera into "My Colors"
the easiest way to remedy this is either to
Click on the Function/Set button. and
Check if both vertical line on left and horizontal line on bottom, both show icon of camera saying "auto"
If not, change to auto with cursor.
If this has not been touched? then try hitting "Menu", move cursor to the middle icon which showes the picture of a "hammer & wrench"
and use the cursor pad to scroll down untill you reach the line which says: "RESET ALL" click on the "FUNC/SET" BUTTON. the camera will now ask you if you want to set this camera back to its default factory settings? move the cursor pad to where it says "Ok!"
and click on the "FUNC/SET" BUTTON. that should remove any problems:
