You got some great shots, I favorited #20 (I see now that Dan liked it as well) So do you spend day & night in it? are there walls? what if it rains? So many questions. :-)

What an interesting post, Leah! I like your choice of b/w for the opening shot - and I simply love #6, which is a very nice photo and find. I appreciate your dedication to tradition!

In reply to Dave (stabeez) -- Well, my husband is usually out there by around 5 a.m. learning something, then we all drift in, say morning blessings, then make the special blessing on the "four kinds," ( http://www.photoblog.com/chossid/2010/10/02/four-kinds.html ) and have a hot drink with homemade pastry of some sort. We dunked a lot of biscotti and mondelbroit this year! ;-) We have a lot of guests for lunch and dinner (13 special holiday meals this year, with up to 30 something people.) After lunch, some people stay out there talking or playing board games, till it's time to return to the synagogue for the late afternoon and evening prayers. Afterwards, the women will light candles there, to usher in the holiday, and we'll eat again. Each meal begins with a blessing on wine, to sanctify the holiday, then we wash in a special way and eat home-baked challah bread, followed by fish and salads, chicken soup with something in the evening, the main course, and dessert... (betcha can't guess why I'm on a diet now, huh?!!! ;-) )

Lovely post, Leah! The light coming through the shades makes such interesting patterns and the leaves add much interest! Really love #s 7, 17, and 20!

Hi Leah. I'm profiting my time before you delete me from your friend's list. Perhaps i must rectify my opinion, and prefering that you remain in my list even like a "ghost", although some of my post don't like you...i say this because would like me have your permission to continue visiting your blog in the future. For exemple, i considere this set so interesting essay about abstractions that existe all round us all the time. And this is only an exemple, i have visited your blog fastly, and i know that i might learn a lot of new variated things here. Well i continue my visit into your world. See you.
