nice shot, the wood of trees are used for furniture, papers. I read somewhere for preparing 1000kg of papers they need 15 big trees!

Of course we need heat at winter, and the best and most comfortable are a fireplace with good wood:-) It was just a thought I had when standing watching all the chimneys. But if we really thinking enviroment, what definitive worries me is all the paperproduction in the world, that is huge! Yesterday, I think we got about 10 advertising-magazines in the mailbox, and that is scary......

People have been keeping warm by fireplaces for milleniums aback. That is not the problem. You are most certainly right: paper had once been one of the most expensives fibres and now... well you said it yourself. We overestimate the needs of man. We're better of with less.
