Cloudy and rainy day today, but took a trip with my camera anyway. The first ten photos are from the ruins of Monastery of Lyse, these ruins are actually located 35 minutes south of Bergen, in Os municipality. The Cistercian monastery of Lyse was established and built by Bishop Sigurd in the year 1146, and the name Lyse comes from Lysefjorden - "the fjord of the light" which is near by.
The last nine photos are shooted at "Gamlehaugen", The Royal Residence in Bergen. This building was built in 1901 for Christian Michelsen, baught by the state in 1925 and placed at the disposal for the King. Gamlehaugen are at the southside of Bergen city, and translated to english Gamlehaugen means something like "The Old Hill". History of this place goes way back in time, it was originally a farm here, which was left for a long time after the Black Death. Lots of history.. All pics are taken with my Canon EOS 30D
