Beginning of Lent. Lent is the period where we prepare ourselves, renew our faith and spirituality prior to the Easter Holiday. A few years ago my grandmother, who was my inspiration in my faith for many years, passed away. Another family member put together a gift basket for me rather than a live plant. I didn't see this beautiful cross until some days later when I took all the shrink wrap off the basket. I saw it as a sign that even though my grandma was no longer here in body to inspire me, she was always with me in my faith.
