Day 16 Why Are People Tieing themselves into Human Knots?

2008.01.17

I left class early today to get my stuffy nose checked out at the student health center. On my way back, I spied these poor souls tied up in a human knot.

My first thought was, "Oh Jiminy Cricket! (Or something to that effect.) My class is doing another ice breaker?!"

[ For more information on my aversion to ice breakers, see Day 7/365.] So naturally, I hunched over (so as to become less recognizable, of course), skirted off, and hid behind a tree to get a better look.

When I realized it was not my class, and some other unlucky students having to tie themselves up for an unknown educational purpose, I have to admit I was pretty amused at their expense. Much like their professor (standing to the left) probably felt? Which made me think...are we just doing ice breakers to entertain professors? Cause they are pretty darn funny to watch when you don't have to do 'em.

It's decided--when I get my Ph.D., there's gonna be an ice-breaker-a-day rule. Yes!

goldenamik LOL... I have endured my share of ice breakers and "low organizational games" since I went to teacher's college... I bet they'd be pretty amusing to watch.
