Day 115 Executive Functioning

2008.04.25

Sometimes I am amazed by how I have managed the last two years to balance:

-an average of 7 grad school classes each quarter
-12 to 20 children on my counseling caseload each year
-various special education assessments that take about 40 hours each
-the rest of my life

I realize I wouldn't remember all the different things I need to do each day and places I need to be if it were not for my trusty planner. It is truly an extension of my brain.

One time it went missing for a couple of days, and I felt like I lost my frontal lobe. I didn't know where to go or what needed to be done. Luckily, it decided to come back and help me out.

I look forward to a time when I only have three or four things to remember in a day, and my planner and I can take a nice, relaxing vacation. I believe I wrote that day down (in my planner, of course) as June 15th.
