Day 243 IQ Testing

2008.09.02

Part of a school psychologist's job is assessment to see if a child qualifies for special education. This involves giving a lot of tests to see how a child learns and where their areas of strengths and weaknesses are.

It's very interesting giving so many tests of cognitive processing because I've learned exactly what areas I am good at (pretty much any verbal task) and what areas I am weak in (anything that involves spatial memory--which finally explains why I always get lost around the town I grew up in).

pzf64 Neat shot!

I wish EVERY child was tested to see how they learn best. I typed out a whole reply, then deleted it as I realized your blog isn't the place to vent my frustrations :o) (Not directed at you at all - just at how the public education system assumes every child learns the same.)
