...and in daylight.

2007.03.01

I realized that I don't really have all that many photos of this place posted that were taken during the daytime, while I have plenty posted of it at night...so here it is.

I have been reading a lot about converting RAW to B&W photos that have a little more of the true B&W feel to them. There are a few plug-ins that help, but nothing quite nails it yet in my opinion. This was a test in channel mixing, and even though I don't think that it looks like film, I like the results nonetheless.

DrRoy which conveter used here?

cmiper Thanks all!

@DrRoy - I used the "Lens Effect" filter to darken the vignette, then it was just a matter of using the channel mixer to get the tones that I wanted. No plug-ins on this one, just adjustments.

DrRoy I am talking about RAW to JPEG converter, not Photoshop or other Image editor. I had a kodak converter, it is not satisfactory position.

cmiper I use Nikon View to make my adjustments to the RAW file then choose the "Open with Photoshop" option from there. The file is still RAW at that point, but when I have made my edits and want to save for posting, I just use "Save for web" in Photoshop and use the JPG settings.

DrRoy This is not the proper way to convert RAW files, but photoshop effects on it. thanks a lot, keep going.
