Old Town

2007.03.07

My car was still not ready today. It's been in the shop for 2 days now and they've determined that a bolt on the drive shaft broke, making the timing belt become disengaged, and then the timing belt broke. So they are installing a new timing belt tomorrow and it's going to cost about $500. I can't afford this anymore! I gotta sell my car after I get this and the transmission fixed. With a daughter to cart around, I should really have something more practical than a sports car, and I keep getting in trouble with it anyway.

So I was riding the bus home today and this was one of the buildings on the route, with some cool architecture. It's in an area of Portland called Old Town, the original downtown Portland.

I actually kind of like riding public transit. There are so many interesting people, it's inexpensive, and although it takes longer to get from one place to the next, I can knit, read, or work out designs for knitted items and jewelry on paper instead of being stuck in traffic with my hands on the wheel.
