Notice the sky? That's all sand and dust blowing in gale force winds. The formations in the foreground are within 10 feet of me
I call this lil hoodoo, "Chicken Head." It's not very big and it's within a couple of feet of me. Again notice the blowing sand off in the distance...a 1/2 mile or so

Petrified wood in a layer of sand and sandstone
A Hoodoo hatchery about 50-100 ft from the camera. These are really odd formations with a layer of harder stone over a layer of sand over a layer of stone-sand-petrified wood- sand-stone and then at some point, coal. I'm not a geologist, but somewhere in all that is supposed to be the famous K-T Boundary. Very surreal.
