"Water, Water everwhere...And not a drop to drink" (Water part 1)

Yesterday I showed fire pics, today another of the basic elements, Water. Water is a great thing to shoot, I have a lot of ideas for future pics but I need the relevent equipment to pull them off, watch this space.

1. Golden light on a very windy Crosby beach.
2. Albert dock, Liverpool, some poor kid is missing that ball badly!
3. Boiling water in a pan, toned in blue.
4. Late Autumn scene at dusk. This is a long exposure with a little flash filled in.

i often can't choose a favorite in your series. this is one of those series. shots one, two and four share a trait with water, powerful despite their apparent tranquility.

You did a great job with the flash. I couldn't get good results with the stupid things to save my life.

The last shot is a revelation. I've never thought of doing a long exposure on still water, but the effect is amazing. I'm going to try something like that tonight. Thanks for these!

but the meaning is the same. It's from The Rime
of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge -
when the Ancient Mariner is stuck in the middle
of the sea."
