Air Apparent (Air part 1)

2007.02.10

I thought I would carry on my 'basic elements' series with Air. Wow, this is tricky, not an easy subject, as most of the time it is invisible! I had to plunder the archives to get anything to fit. As I could not show Air directly I resorted to atmospheric conditions: steam, rainbows and clouds. I want to do this series again as I know there must good ways of portrating this subject. The forth element 'ground' will be a lot easier!

1. Flying to Amsterdam. Shot on a throw away film camera.
2. Toned cloud.
3. Fiddalers Ferry colling towers.
4. A double rainbow with handaly placed exit sign.

iustinium agree, contrast in #3 is really good, the big chimney thing makes the smoke really stand out.

photopoet Wow—that first shot is simply spectacular. The entire set is great. You manage to show so many sides of air— you are the heir apparent of air photography.
