"Cheers!"

2008.07.06

This is the paper negative and positive print of a pinhole photo, blended together in Photoshop. Funny- low tech photos, high tech photo manipulation.

The photo was taken at our local Sonic. (burgers and specialty drinks served in drive-in/car hop style) I had the Pringles pinhole camera mounted to my tripod with rubber bands, and the tripod was basically in my lap, camera aimed out the car window at the menu. That's my hand there holding my raspberry iced tea. Exposure was 2 minutes for this shot.

And the kids? They were quieted in the back seat with their own drinks.

I have recently started exploring pinhole photography, and I love it! It brings me the same excitement of digital photography, but for different reasons. (which I am too sleepy at the moment to get into, but I promise to do so) I can easily say in my sleepy state that each image requires much time and effort to create a clear composed shot. Each piece of photo paper holds much promise and anticipation. And every shot seems like a work of art brought forth.
