Brick Machine

2008.10.09

After talking to many people on a way to transport the tractor to the mountain, it came down to them being unable to offload it each time. With no rollback trucks in the area it became a bit of a bother....then one of the tow-in companies bought one and Thursday last week our problem was solved when we loaded it on their truck and it was delivered to QwaQwa

Off-loading. Easy as rolling the bed back and driving the tractor off. Looking at how many times it felt it would never end up on the mountain, and then solving the problem with so little effort....huge relief...Praise God!!

Hylien was following me driving it up the mountain....

Then today the brick machine was delivered...another epic saga in it's own!!

Sam mixing soil with 10% cement, a little bit of water to get the mixture moist and then we press it all together with around 1 ton of pressure..........

....to get this....our own bricks.
These are a few we made and stacked to show the guys how the system works. You don't use cement between the blocks and dry stacks them!!

Here one can see how the brick is shaped so it locks into each other when stacking.
