We haven't had water for almost a week now and the men had to walk up and down a steep hill to get us water for cooking and cleaning.

Today was a very special day in the Day Care. All the children's hard work paid off. Every parent attended our prize giving ceremony and they were astonished at what and how much their children have learned. Matladi receiving her pencil case with a lot of goodies inside that she will be able to use every day during class.

Star student!!! Two years old. Knows her alphabet by heart. Writes her alphabet without any hesitation. Did not miss one day of class so far!! Congratulations you precious little thing, you make me so proud!!

Modise did not miss one class either. He was there when it was windy and rainy. Three children received something special for attending class every day. It is only a pleasure for us to build into these children's lives and to see them grow and become educated.

Every child had the opportunity to show their mothers that they know the alphabet. The mamas were astonished and extremely proud.
|
We had the mothers to be students for a while and quizzed them on their knowledge of shapes. Sadly they only new the ordinary ones, but not the hexagon and the octagon, and we caught them out on the 'how many lines' do the shape have?!! The kiddies were ecstatic, they knew something their parents didn't and we are far from done yet! This day turned out perfect! Job well done kids!!

Off to the blackboards. They wrote the alphabet and some words on their blackboards and showed it to their mothers.

Bibi, hard at work. This little boy is very special. I haven't written a lot about him yet, except that he likes to put his thumb in his mouth and his feet up on the table. Bibi has a very nice and charming personality. I love to watch him color. He notices the details and expressions in pictures and can have a good old chuckle when he sees something that amuses him.
