Hidden in the dark.....

2009.11.01
Today, we read Matt 14....(we do a chapter every Sunday, going through the Bible). This week God really spoke to me through the first 12 verses, and as always, I have to learn first before I can teach, which is not always nice. And it brings us to things hidden in the dark and the road they take us on.

Herod was having an affair in the quiet, and to keep John from making things uncomfortable he chucked him in jail..sweet solution. His solution to keep on sinning had a bad outcome though and in the end John lost his life in a gruesome way.
I don't think Herod thought the eventual cost of hiding his sin would be another man's life.

We too have sin we try and hide in the dark.
We may get away with keeping it where no-one else can see it, so on the outside we look all nice and sweet, BUT in our hearts we KNOW there is something rotten, that we hope the world will never know about.
We have 2 choices in this, we can keep it there and hope it never comes out and bites us in the bum (but knowing how satan operates, probably wishful thinking).
Or we can go before God and ask forgiveness and then allow Him to work on the problem....which means being actively involved in Him changing us.
This is a privilege we have, that non-believers cannot tap into, and we should use it...CONTINUOUSLY.

So if there is sin you allowed to creep into your life, now is a good time to stop the world, give it to God, and then put your shoulder into weeding it out..... don't allow sin to take root for too long...you may not enjoy the outcome .

After Sunday School the kids was excited to sing the grown-ups a song. I took my camera out and you can see it too:
