Sidewalks and Waterways of New York

Brownstones on Carroll St. in Brooklyn. This is my most viewed photo on Panoramio.

Come back with that statue!

Toll plazas can be so confusing. This one is at the entrance to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel.

There are more links between Japan and Peru than you'd think. We had lunch in Brooklyn at this one.

First to link Brooklyn and Manhattan, the Brooklyn Bridge was the most famous bridge in the world when it was built and is still a classic.

The Waterfront Museum in Brooklyn honors showboats and hosts wedding receptions. The ceremony I attended took place about where I stood to take this picture. On a cool breezy September evening, the reception took place inside the museum.

As Bruce Springsteen once sang in "Open All Night", here's the "North Jersey industrial skyline", at twilight.

For a city with 2 million inhabitants, Brooklyn has precious few hotels. Here's one of them, located in Red Hook.

The water taxi scoots back and forth between Brooklyn and Staten Island.

Parking works better in New York if you don't have a car.

Another day with no new photos, so I rewind to last September's trip to New York City. We return there during Easter week.
