Phurther Philly Adventures - Day Nineteen

2008.06.25
Philadelphia is more than just history.

Waiting for the 2:15 tour of Independence Hall

Independence Hall can look quite majestic from the proper angle.

Home of the judiciary during Philadelphia's years as the nation's capital

The Congress Hall in which the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Constitution was approved.

The Pennsylvania table in the Congress Hall

Historical still life

Not the original version of the Declaration of Independence (which is at the National Archives)...and there's no treasure map on the back.

Staircase view

Commodore Barry has a bridge across the Delaware named after him, but I'm not sure what role he played in the revolution.

One buggy ride per week is enough.

Foucault pendulum at the Franklin Institute

Kallie flies in the wind tunnel.

As much as I was allowed to photograph of the Real Pirates exhibit, a collection of artifacts recovered from a pirate ship that sank off Cape Cod in 1717.

A rest before going home

Ben Franklin Parkway leads to both the Franklin Institute and to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

My daughter asked me not to post this one...my second "timed shot" and the part that was missing from yesterday's effort. The shot doubles as a beard update.

We went back to Philly today for the Independence Hall tour and to see the "Real Pirates" exhibit at the Franklin Institute.
