Our first stop (after lunch and the Salem Visitors' Center) was the Salem Witch Museum.

They didn't allow photography in the museum, but I did get a shot of this poster for the French Musee de la Sorcellerie. I'm not sure if the words on the bottom are promoting an appearance by Cher, but she was in The Witches of Eastwick.

Witch icons and memorabilia are everywhere in Salem. I challenged the Witch Museum employees as to why they sell items that reinforce the witch stereotypes (the theme of the rest of their exhibit was that witches and other scapegoat groups were the targets of a combination of fear and a trigger person or event). Their answer, "They pay the bills."

Marshland is something you don't associate with New Hampshire.

Vanity plates must be cheap in New Hampshire. We saw plenty during our brief trip through about twelve miles of the state.

We were a little freaked out by the "fake people" in this vehicle in the restaurant parking lot.

It turns out that the vehicle commemorates the 180th anniversary of Frisbee's Market across the street.

The wind freshened.

We watched the storm roll across the cove.

The storm blew in quickly and picked up a canopy from the restaurant's outside seating area.

The canopy blew over a fence and landed on two cars in the parking lot - fortunately no damage.

This lighthouse stayed lit during the storm. We couldn't see the other one at all.

Almost as quickly as it came, the storm left.

I took the photos and we ate a great meal at Cap'n Simeon's Galley in Kittery Point, ME.

The rain started again as we left to return to the Boston area.

On our northward jaunt we visited Salem, MA (where the infamous Salem witch trials happened in 1692) and continued north to leave tracks in both New Hampshire and the very southern tip of Maine.
