The church has a long hstory.
First built by two Portuguese priests in 1655,early Qing;it was damaged in an earthquake in 1720;then was burnt down in an accident 100 years later,and was burnt down again in Yihetuan Movement in 1900.
Wangfujing Catholic Church was rebuilt four times totally,more than 300 years has passed since it was first built,now the Roman style Catholic Church we see,was built in 100 years ago.
