St.Johannis is the oldest and most artful cemetery in Nuernberg. In the Middle Ages , when great pest and cholera diseases spread in the city, the dead where brought here. Nowerdays Johannis is one of the central parts of the modern Nuernberg.
|
Many famous citizens found their rest here - for example the painter Albrecht Dürer (see above), the artist Veit Stoß and the philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach

The cemetery is a little paradise for those who like old sorts of roses!

Great set , like the composition of the first. Did you get some shots of the lovely flowering balconies in the background in the last one?

Oh dear, Doris. I can't walk out because of the wind and decided to see some pictures of photoblogers, too. And I see a cemetery! Well, a very interesting set, especially the last photo.

Looks like an intersestig place - the gravestone on pic no. 1 is simply beautiful. and picture no. 5 ... it's amaznig, that the cementary is so close to other buildings. and I can't see any tall fence. that's really different with what I'm used to :)
