wow, jenny, this is one fine picture. i was looking at it and first was convinced you posted a little animation... due to the black around the picture squares, my eyes fell for the illusion that they slightly move to each other! now, either i gotta get me a new glasses (quite possible anyhow) or you've discovered some new psycho-photographic technique that is awe-... and fearsome! don't worry too much about being shattered - it's as much an illusion as feeling whole... ;-)

Your image reminds me of a holographic image which has the remarkable property that if you were to take any of the tiny squares in your picture you would be able to recreate the entire picture from it, unlike in a conventional picture where you would only get the enlarged square. Our lives are holographic. We present single squares as masks but within each square is the totality of our being and the opportunity always to recreate another mask while retaining our total being. And therein lies hope and the inability ever to become broken.
